Wassaman will bid goodbye to the Premier League on Sunday but their CEO has insisted that the club will look to gain promotion back to the elite division as soon as possible.

The Tarkwa-based club ended their one year stay in the top flight in their debut season last weekend with a defeat by Berekum Arsenal, another side battling relegation.

Chief Executive Felix Baidoo has sounded out the club's intent to ring changes after admitting that Wassaman were not up to scratch. And he will now set about building a squad capable of bouncing straight back.

“We need to freshen things up and rebuild at the end of the season,” Baidoo said.

As Baidoo prepares to clear the decks at Wassaman following relegation to the Division One League, he recounts that the club's failure to add quality players to their ranks contributed to their poor season.

“Our problems started in the first round because we shouldn’t have kept faith with all the players that help us to qualify."

“We should have brought in some other quality players. But whatever happened is over and so must look forward to life in the first division.

“The rank and file of the club is utterly disappointed and disjointed but what can we say,” the club's CEO added.

Wassaman finish their campaign on Sunday when they host Heart of Lions at the Tarkwa T&A Park.
