The Football Association is pleased to announce that Emmanuel Lawson, eFootball Manager of the Ghana National Team, the Black Asteroids, has earned a FIFAe Referee Certificate following his participation in the FIFAe Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 17 to 19.

The certificate was officially presented at the summit after Lawson successfully completed the FIFAe Referee course through an extensive online programme undertaken over a sustained period. In doing so, he becomes the first FIFAe licensed coach within Ghana’s esports ecosystem, marking a significant milestone for the country’s growing presence in competitive eFootball.

The FIFAe Referee course is designed to equip esports officials and administrators with comprehensive knowledge of FIFAe match regulations, officiating standards, fair play principles and the application of the laws of the game in high-level eFootball competitions.

Lawson’s certification places him among a select group of globally recognised professionals qualified to support, manage and oversee esports football competitions at the highest level. His achievement significantly enhances Ghana’s technical capacity in eFootball governance and officiating, while aligning the nation with international best practices in the rapidly evolving esports landscape.

Speaking on the milestone, Lawson noted that the certification would play a key role in improving professionalism, consistency and competitive integrity within Ghana’s eFootball ecosystem.

The Ghana Football Association has congratulated Emmanuel Lawson on this achievement and commended his dedication to advancing the development and credibility of eFootball in Ghana.
