Muntari wants to remain in Premiership

Sulley Muntari is holding out hope to remain in the Premier League next season.

The Ghana midfielder joined Sunderland on loan from Inter Milan in the January transfer window.

Muntari revealed to the Daily Mirror that he had been following developments in England back at Inter.

"I missed it so much. I watched it every day, read about it all the time and was telling my friends how much I wanted to return, even when I was winning titles and the Champions League [with Inter Milan].

"It might sound strange because we were winning so many trophies including the Champions League, but whatever happened in Milan, I had to come back to the Premier League."

Now, Muntari has impressed so far for the Black Cats is mooting for a permanent stay in the summer.

"I feel welcome here. Everyone has so much passion about football. There is a different passion here. The stadiums are always full and that is what makes the football so great here.

"It is something I really love. Of course, there is passion in Italy but it is a different style of football. Here it is so passionate. The Italians are good people too. I am not against Italian football just so much for English football.

"I do not know whether I will be here next season. I am on loan but I am just concentrating on the rest of this season. I am not thinking about what will happen at the end of the season."
