The programme of activities for the 2026 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship has been announced ahead of the tournament’s opening on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The eight-day championship, which runs through Sunday, October 11, will bring together 10 regional teams and two GFA Elite Academies in a competition designed to identify and nurture Ghana’s next generation of football talents.

The participating teams are scheduled to arrive at the GFA Technical Centre on Saturday, October 3, where they will undergo FIFA Safeguarding orientation sessions ahead of the tournament.

The 12 teams have been divided into two groups of six and will begin their respective campaigns on October 4, with the competition providing a platform for some of the country’s most promising U17 players to showcase their abilities before talent scouts and technical officials.

Sponsored by the KGL Foundation, the championship forms part of the implementation of the Football Association’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS), which is focused on identifying, developing and nurturing emerging football talent across the country.

The tournament is expected to provide an important pathway for young players to demonstrate their technical ability, tactical understanding and potential while competing against some of the best U17 players from across Ghana.

The tournament will feature standout U17 Colts players selected from Ghana’s 10 Regional Football Associations, alongside two GFA Elite Academies representing BIG Boss and Prempeh College.
