When Ebo Mends faces Liberty Professionals on Sunday in the Glo Premier League he will need little telling to know that his Asante Kotoko side would be playing to save him further criticisms from the large Porcupine Warriors support base and ultimately his job.

He would know that his second return to Kotoko could be following the same pattern like his first when he was booted out after defeat to rivals, Hearts of Oak in 1999 bringing to an end his reign after 14 matches.

But if anyone wants to know what is keeping him off the firing list for now, it’s the board’s decision to give him time as any hasty decision could also bring their process of choosing him into question.

Liberty who suffered an opening day loss just like Kotoko would be playing at home in the weekend’s top liner at the Ohene Djan Stadium. Despite playing away from home, Kotoko do enjoy massive support in Accra and could turn the tide against Liberty.

Elsewhere Kessben FC who got off their campaign with a massive victory after beating Kotoko would be at home at the Sekondi Sports Stadium to Hearts of Oak.

Kessben would be looking at adding the Phobians to their list of vanquished sides. But Hearts head into the clash against Kessben having won their opening game and would be buoyed on by that performance.

Champions Aduana aim to continue their winning run as they travel to the Baba Yara Stadium to meet King Faisal who lost on the first day of the season.

Mighty Jets are another team seeking a response after their premiership bow ended in defeat. The new boys would host All Stars at the Tema Park in what would be their first home game.

After their big win on the opening day of the season, leaders New Edubiase make the journey up north where they battle Real Tamale United at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The Len Clay Stadium would witness the clash between AshantiGold and Ebusua Dwarfs with the Miners chasing their first win after drawing last weekend while the visitors managed a win.

Hearts of Lions did not enjoy a great start to the campaign after losing away. But returning to their favourite Kpando grounds where the play Chelsea, they would strive to earn the three points.

Lastly on Sunday, the Golden City Park would host a regional derby as Berekum Arsenals and B.A. Stars clash in battle for the bragging rights.
