Sankara Nationals maintain unbeaten start with win over Steadfast FC - Zone One Review

Sankara Nationals maintained their unbeaten start to the UMB Division One League campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Steadfast FC at the Yendi Youth Resource Centre. Bawa Hafiz scored the decisive goal in the 43rd minute with a superb strike to give Sankara Nationals a deserved lead heading into the break. They held onto their lead after the break to secure all three points.

Mighty Royals thrash KAC Soccer Academy for second staright win

Wamanafo Mighty Royals secured their second consecutive victory of the campaign with an emphatic 4-1 away win over K.A.C Soccer Academy at the Nana Konamansa Park on Sunday.

The visitors took the lead in the 44th minute through a James Abu own goal, giving Mighty Royals a 1-0 advantage at halftime.

James Abu redeemed himself shortly after the break, scoring the equalizer for K.A.C Soccer Academy in the 48th minute. But Wamanafo Mighty Royals regained the lead in the 78th minute through Clarence Don Bortey with a fine finish to make it 2-1.

Osman Zakaria then put the result beyond doubt with two late goals - scoring in the 88th minute and again in the fifth minute of added time to complete an impressive 4-1 victory for Mighty Royals.

Berekum City stun Real Tamale United to secure first win of the season 

Giants Real Tamale United FC suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to newly promoted Berekum City FC at the Kurt E.S Okraku Technical Centre in Winkogo on Sunday. After a goalless first half, Berekum City FC finally broke the deadlock in the 71st minute through Hendrick Acheampong, who found the back of the net with a well-taken finish.

The goal proved to be the difference as Berekum City FC held on to secure their first victory of the campaign, bringing an end to their winless start.
