The Division One League promotion play-off begins today for teams in Zone I.

A premiership debutant would emerge from Zone I where Bechem, Unity FC, Guan United and Bazooka FC would all be chasing the sole ticket.

Bechem FC will be making their third successive attempt at gaining promotion but will face competition from the other three sides.

The opening round of games would see Bechem play Unity at the Ohene Djan Stadium while Guan take on Bazooka at the Tema Stadium.

The side with the highest number of points after three rounds of matches secures topflight football next season.

The fixture date for the opening matches in Zone I had to be rearranged following consultations with stadia managers.

Clubs in the zone were scheduled to have kicked off the promotion league on May 15 but the Division One League Board announced May 13 as the start date.
