Striker Abass Mohammed climbed off the bench to score a last gasp equalizer to hand Medeama a 1-1 draw at home to Asante Kotoko in their outstanding match day 4 fixture at the Akoon park on Sunday.

It was a game of two halves as both teams dominated in either side of 90 minutes.

The Mauves and Yellows have not been impressive since the start of the season drawing all three home matches. They also lost 2-1 to Dreams FC and drew goalless with Legon Cities.

The home side were exceptional in the first half but huffed and puffed in the second half as the Porcupine Warriors enjoyed the chunk of possession.

Kwame Poku opened the scoring for Asante Kotoko with a well worked goal connecting beautifully from an incisive pass from winger Emmanuel Gyamfi on 72 minutes.

The opening game gave the visitors the needed confidence as they dictated from the heart of the park.

Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah missed the games brightest chance as he missed from close range with only goalkeeper Razak Abalora at his mercy.

The former Dreams FC midfielder dribbled past Habib Mohammed and Moro Ibrahim but failed to bury the chance.

Richard Boadu partnered Rashid Nortey, Eric Kwakwa and Kwasi Donsu at the heart of the park.

The quartet bossed the midfield making life difficult for Asante Kotoko duo Latif Anabila and Emmanuel Sarkodie.

But all the possession did not reflect on the scoreboard before the half time whistle.

Medeama have yet to win at home this season in what has been an inconsistent campaign.
