After qualifying for a third-straight World Cup, Ghana will have another peep at the trophy even before the Black Stars kick a ball in Brazil.

The Coca-Cola Trophy Tour begins in Accra on Monday as the President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi will proudly welcome the trophy before it goes on display in the capital, Accra.

This is the third time that the World Cup trophy is going on tour around the world. And Ghana is the fifth country in Africa to host the trophy tour after Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

The two-day tour which ends on Tuesday will afford fans the chance to enjoy a rare close-up view of the authentic FIFA World Cup Trophy.

In 2006, Ghana was the starting point as for the first time the FIFA World Cup made an unprecedented tour visiting 31 cities in 28 countries before the FIFA World Cup in Germany. In the build-up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the tour visited 84 countries, including 50 African nations.

Ghana will be making their third consecutive appearance at the World Cup after their debut in 2006.
