Wales will face Ghana for the first time ever in a senior men’s international fixture at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 (KO time TBC).

The match will mark the first time an African nation has played in Wales, where Craig Bellamy’s side will face a star-studded Ghana team featuring Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus.

The Black Stars have already confirmed their place in this summer’s FIFA World Cup where they will face England, Croatia and Panama in the group stage.

Wales last and only match against an African nation in the men’s game was in June 1998 in Tunis, which featured current Head Coach Craig Bellamy.

Their participation in this summer’s FIFA World Cup in North America will depend on the outcome of the play-off pathway in March. Craig Bellamy’s side face Bosnia & Herzegovina on Thursday 26 March and should they progress, they will then face Italy or Northern Ireland in a play-off final on Tuesday March 31, 2026.

Ghana have already confirmed friendlies against Austria, Germany and Mexico and this would give Coach Otto Addo another test in preparing his team for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico and United States of America.

Ticket information for the fixture will be announced in due course.
