Ghana attacker, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, still in his early days as a Black Stars player says it feels good to be playing in the on-going African Cup of Nations.

Quincy, playing his debut tournament for Ghana is already thrilled by the magnitude of the Nations Cup held every two years.

“It feels good because it’s basically what you are made for as a player. You playing in your league but the big things like the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations are big tournaments. So I am happy to be a part of the Ghana squad and play in the African Cup of Nations. So basically, I am delighted,” the player said.

He has enjoyed some good runs in the tournament as he continuously shows skill and pace but he says the support of the home fans gives him more confidence anytime steps out to play.

“It feels good. At the end of the day you are playing at home and you have the crowd behind you and it gives you more confidence when you go on the pitch and perform. So it’s good. It’s a great feeling and it’s the best feeling ever.”

But the Celta Vigo player has received some stick from some fans for hanging onto the ball for too long. And he explains his style of play which he says he tries to keep simple.

“It’s a part of my game. Sometimes, you can’t do it all the time. You just have to keep it simple and when you have the chance to do it, I use it. But I am trying to keep simple as I can.”

The 22-year-old player says he is still adapting to the Nations Cup despite having two games under his belt.

“The African Cup of Nations is a very, very hard tournament. It’s strong and not easy to play in. And it’s new for me but it’s something that I am adapting to.

“It’s not that much of a difference because at the end of the day, all the countries play football and that’s what they do in Europe as well, so it’s all good,” he says.
