The race for the Southern Zone crown in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will be decided in dramatic fashion this weekend as two crucial fixtures determine who finishes at the top of the table.

League leaders Hasaacas Ladies hold a slim advantage heading into the final round of matches with 37 points from 17 games. Close behind them are Army Ladies FC  who sit just one point adrift with 36 points, setting up a tense finish to the campaign.

Hasaacas Ladies will face FC Samartex Ladies at the Nsenkyire Arena on Saturday, April 4, 2026, in a match that could seal the Southern Zone title for the Sekondi-based side.

The defending champions have enjoyed a strong season, recording 11 wins, 2 draws, and 4 defeats, scoring 21 goals while conceding only six, giving them the best defensive record among the contenders.

Meanwhile, Army Queens will battle Soccer Intellectuals Ladies at the Senya Astro Turf at the same time.

Army Ladies have also been impressive throughout the season with 11 wins, 3 draws, and 3 losses, scoring 16 goals and conceding eight.

With just one point separating the two teams, the Southern Zone title race remains wide open. A victory for Hasaacas Ladies would guarantee them the top spot regardless of other results.

However, any slip-up could open the door for Army Queens, who will be hoping to capitalize if the leaders drop points.

The final round promises excitement as fans eagerly await to see which side will emerge as Southern Zone champions and secure a place in the league’s championship playoff.
