Milovan Rajevac prepares to face the biggest challenge of his career tomorrow when Ghana kicks off their World Cup campaign against the country of his birth, Serbia, but he insists it‘s a match for “results.”

Since the draw was made, talk about his meeting with his compatriots did dominate the local media. However, for the Ghana coach, that has long gone as the Black Stars get ready for the opening clash in Pretoria.

“The first game is simply a match for results. Yes, I come from Serbia but that would have nothing to do with Ghana’s play against them in Pretoria,” Rajevac told www.ghanafa.org.

“No heart, mind, nothing!” he said with a smile.

Reaching the second round of the 2006 World Cup finals on their debut, there expectation remains high for another Ghana success.

The first game is always important and Rajevac is focusing on getting a result to enhance his Ghana’s chances of progression.

“It’s a match which is important for us. The tension drops after the opening game but a good result from the game with Serbia will give us much confidence for the other matches.

“We clearly know what we have to do and that’s how we would approach the game.”

Hopes of a successful campaign is not lost on Rajevac and he is desirous utilizing Ghana’s past experience to great effect.

“This is the World Cup, the biggest football tournament in the world where the best players gather. Experience will matter at the World Cup so I will have that in my mind,” he said.
