AshantiGold maintained the pressure on the top two teams on the log after winning on Sunday at home.

The Miners recorded a slim 1-0 victory over Hasaacas at the Len Clay Stadium and the win leaves them in second and five points adrift leaders, Kotoko but a point behind Hearts of Oak, who lie second.

Bernard Morrison beat former Ghana international goalkeeper George Owu in the 27th minute from the penalty spot to seal the win.

At the T&A Park, Medeama will rue a last minute penalty miss as they could only draw 1-1 with New Edubiase.

Mauves Captain Godfred Rockson missed from the spot as they shared the spoils with the visitors.

Victor Ayirey put Medeama in front before Stephen Manu equalised for Edubiase.

And at the Accra Stadium, Liberty Professionals continued their fine form with a 2-1 win against Bechem United.

Taminu Muntari scored the opener after 10 minutes and with two minutes to end the opening half, Jafaru Samed made it 2-0 for Liberty.

Paul Manu got a late consolation for Bechem.
