Medeama defeat Morocco's MAS 3-0 in the first round first-leg of the Confederation Cup to give themselves a huge boost ahead of the return leg.

Malik Akowuah gave the Mauves a first half lead at the Essipon Stadium on Sunday before second half goals from Kabiru Imoro and Kwame Boahene secured a home victory.

Theophilus Anobaah could have also added his name on the score sheet but he missed from the spot after Medeama were awarded a penalty.

The Ghanaian FA Cup holders, making their continental debut will now travel to Casablanca for the return fixture later this month.
