Berekum Chelsea's hopes of sealing the Glo Premier League title failed to materialise after they were beaten 1-0 by King Faisal on Monday.

Chelsea were within touching distance of their debut title but were undone by a first half goal by Abdul Wahab at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The win lifted Faisal from the relegation zone as it delayed Chelsea's bid of landing the trophy with four games to go now.

Chelsea now lead at the top by 11 points after AshantiGold defeated Liberty Professionals 2-0 at the Len Clay Stadium to move second.

Two goals apiece in each half from Emmanuel Adjetey and Alhaji Sani helped the Miners' surge on the table.

However, Asante Kotoko who had their game at the Kpando Park rained off could cut Chelsea's lead to 9 points if they win the replay of their fixture against Heart of Lions on Tuesday.

Kotoko were leading 2-1 in the second half after Gladson Awako had equalised for Lions after Nathaniel Asamoah's opener for the Porcupine Warriors before Daniel Nii Adjei restored the visitors lead as the rains came pouring.

Another Premier League game was also called off due to the heavy rains. At Dormaa, Aduana Stars were drawing 1-1 with New Edubiase when the game was called off in the second half.

Bernard Dong Bortey had put the champions in front but Basit Adams drew Edubiase level as both sides would meet again tomorrow.

Substitute Emmanuel Dogbe's header made the difference at the Tarkwa T&A Park where Medeama beat Mighty Jets 2-1 after Winfred Dormon had canceled Kabiru Imoro's opener for Medeama.

The defeat sees Jets slipping back into the relegation zone.

Berekum Arsenals pipped Wa All Stars 1-0 at the Golden City Park courtesy a second half goal from Nana Poku.

Hearts of Oak all but sent bottom side B.A. Stars back to the lower division, winning 3-0 at the Ohene Djan Stadium to move up the standings.

A brace from Douglas Nkrumah and a third by Uriah Asante handed the Phobians a major lift.

Real Tamale United recorded their biggest win of the campaign to boost their chances of avoiding the drop when they hammered Ebusua Dwarfs 4-0 at the Tamale Stadium.

Owusu Bempah, Benjamin Boateng, Sumaila Nyaya and Richard Yeboah handed Mohammed Gargo's team the convincing win.
