Having seen Ghana's stock and his personal career rise following an impressive World Cup performance, Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan insists the team won't have things so easy against Sudan.

Ghana host the Sudanese in the second Group I game of the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying on Sunday with many still basking over the Black Stars' splendid display at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.

The Black Stars produced a great display by reaching the quarter-finals, the only African side to progress past the group stages as they missed out of a place in the semi-finals on penalties to Uruguay.

But Gyan who has ruled out an easy game for Ghana against the Sudanese believes such performances will only heighten the ambitions of opponents no matter the competition.

"I don't believe in predictions. I don't predict, personally. Now football has changed and they [Sudan] would be coming in strongly because we are the best African team in Africa [judging by World Cup performance]," the Sunderland striker said in Accra.

The striker who had a torrid time back in 2008 with fans of the national team who criticized his lack of goals says his scoring run at the World Cup finals where he finished with three goals and put in great performances has warmed him into the hearts of many fans now.

"I had a great World Cup and I think for now everybody is happy with my performance for the nation. We are playing at home so I would make sure I would be myself and deliver the goods for the nation."

Ghana's bench would look a bit different following the departure of former coach Milovan Rajevac but Gyan insists they [players] are used to assistant coach Kwesi Appiah and would stick his instructions.

"We have different staff. Although we've worked together for sometime, coach [Kwesi] Appiah has worked with Milo (Rajevac) so we are used to him. We know what he can do and he understands the game and we will make sure we follow his rules, the way he's going to play. we are on the field so we have to be tactically disciplined," the striker said.

Ghana sits at the top of Group I on three points but with a superior difference than Sudan who beat Congo on the opening day of the qualifiers last month as the Black Stars, losing finalist in the last tournament are aiming for a place at the competition to be co-hosted by Gabon/ Equatorial Guinea.
