Ghana defeat Burkina Faso to progress to the finals of the GoTV Wafu Cup as they will meet the winners of Group B on Thursday.

The home-based national team stormed to a 2-1 victory at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday to top the standings in Group A.

Godfred Saka put Ghana in front but goalkeeper Kabore Mohammed beat his opposing number, Stephen Adams in goal for Ghana from the penalty spot.

Captain Yahaya Mohammed ensured that Ghana surged to the final when he headed in a cross from Saka to restore their lead and secure victory.

Maxwell Konadu's side finished the group campaign on six points, thus one point ahead of Benin, who could only draw 2-2 with Sierra Leone in the other group fixture at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Prior to the final group games, Benin and Burkina Faso were joint-top and a point ahead of Ghana but the turn-around means the hosts will now play either Senegal or defending champions Togo in the final at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Benin, for placing second will play the second placed team in the other group for third position.
