The Ghana Football Association has taken notice of unfortunate incidents of threat and attempted physical assault that happened before the Match Coordinating Meeting ahead of the match between Real Tamale United and Bofoakwa Tano FC at Berekum by the home team.

The GFA wishes to send a strong warning to all stakeholders, especially Real Tamale United FC, who are serving a suspension from its original venue that violence and misconduct at match venues are not acceptable by the Association.

The GFA Safety and Security Committee has since engaged the Divisional Command of Berekum to take all necessary actions to ensure adequate security is provided before, during, and after the match.

As we trust the competence and professionalism of the Ghana Police Services, we will also wish to send a strong warning to Clubs that a breach of the GFA Regulations on Security shall not be entertained and that the GFA and the Ghana Police Service shall ensure the arrest and prosecution of any perpetrator of such acts, in addition to any sporting sanctions that may be imposed by the judicial bodies of the Association.

We are also calling on the leadership of the clubs to ensure that their supporters behave appropriately during the organisation of the match.

The GFA Prosecutor has been tasked to prefer appropriate charges in relation to the unfortunate incident.
