The GFA Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and development of retired footballers by supporting the Middle League and the grand finale of the OSWAL Construction Oldies Champions League, in collaboration with the Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG).
This year supports makes it’s a third consecutive sponsorship of the Oldies Middle and Champions League. Through this support, the GFA Foundation underscored its mandate to champion initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of football stakeholders, particularly former or old players who have contributed immensely to the growth and success of the game in Ghana.
The highly anticipated final will see the two finalists, La Salem Oldies and Rangoon Oldies compete for the coveted trophy and the cash prize at stake. The match is scheduled for 31 st January at 4pm at the Mc Dan La Town Park. Preceding the grand finale is the 3 rd Place game between SCC Sunday and Nima Oldies at 2pm.
Beyond the competition, the Oldies Champions League continues to serve as an important platform for promoting active lifestyles, social inclusion, and sustained engagement with football among retired players.
The partnership with RENFAG highlights a shared vision of honouring football legacies while creating opportunities for continued participation and support.
Officials from RENFAG expressed appreciation to the GFA Foundation and OSWAL Construction for their collaboration, noting that such partnerships are vital to sustaining programs that keep retired footballers connected, healthy, and valued within the football ecosystem.
