Chelsea rally back to defeat AshantiGold

Berekum Chelsea moved out of the relegation zone after grabbing a all three points against AshantiGold in an outstanding Premier League game on Sunday.

The Berekum side came from a goal down to win 2-1 against the Miners at the Golden City Park.

Chelsea, who still have a game in hand are now lying 13th but could push up to mid-table if they win their next game.

AshantiGold drew first blood when young defender Lawrence Lartey opened the scoring in the 42nd minute.

Up by a goal to nil, AshantiGold looked much stronger but the home side returned from the interval and forced their way back into the game.

Chelsea got the equaliser in the 54th minute when Gabriel Ayala scored.

Eight minutes later, Chelsea jumped into the lead through Benjamin Boateng and the goal proved to be the match winners.

The defeat was the Miners' second consecutive loss in the league as they are now 13 points adrift the top.

In another outstanding game, bottom side Inter Allies drew 2-2 with Medeama.

Karim Sadat gave Inter Allies the lead after 11 minutes but three minutes later, Medeama were level thanks to Victor Ayirey's striker.

On the stroke of halftime, Medeama's Kwame Boahene was on hand to put his side in the led.

But in the 73rd minute, Prosper Kasim got the equaliser which saved the blushes of Inter Allies.
