A double delight over Asamoah Gyan’s goal celebration at the World Cup in South Africa as a charity organization back home in Ghana will cash in on the striker's dance.

Players taking part in the World Cup have been edged by Coca-Cola to dance after they score a goal with the company donating $1,500 a dance to charity that aims to provide water and flushing toilets to schools in 19 African countries.

Gyan, scored Ghana’s first goal at the tournament against Serbia last Saturday at the Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria in the 85th minute from a spot kick and took to the corner of the pitch for a celebratory dance with teammates.

“The Coca-Cola Celebration Award has been created to give players and fans the chance not only to show their passion for football but also tackle the hugely important issues of water and sanitation,” explained the company’s global marketing director Emmanuel Seuge who also said the initiative was inspired by Roger Milla’s iconic corner flag dance at the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

The initiative plans to provide at least 2 million Africans with clean water after commending last year.

Gyan’s name has now been entered into a competition in which soccer fans will vote their favourite goal celebration dance.

If Gyan’s goals wins, Coca-Cola will donate an additional $50,000 on his behalf to the charity.
