Black Satellites captain, Aziz Misbau, has been crowned joint Goal King of the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Boys Cup after finishing the tournament with three goals. He shared the golden boot title with Zakaria Tindano of Ivory Coast, both emerging as the top scorers in the just-ended competition.
Misbau's crucial brace in Ghana’s 2-0 third-place victory over Niger cemented his place among the tournament’s elite performers. The first goal came from the penalty spot, before he added a powerful strike from open play to secure the bronze medal for the Black Satellites at the University of Ghana Stadium. In the opening game of the tournament, Aziz scored Ghana’s first goal against Nigeria.
The young striker was not only instrumental in leading Ghana’s attack but also showed exceptional leadership throughout the tournament, wearing the captain’s armband and stepping up during key moments for his side.
“This is a proud moment for me,” Misbau said after receiving the award. “I came here with a mission to help my country and I’m happy I could contribute with goals. Sharing the Goal King award is an honour and I’m grateful to my teammates for their support.”
The joint award recognizes not just his goals, but also his consistency, composure, and sharp instincts in front of goal. His three goals in four matches were pivotal in Ghana’s overall campaign, especially as the team faced stiff competition from the region’s best youth sides.
Aziz’s emergence as a top scorer on the West African stage reaffirms his rising profile in Ghanaian football and places him firmly on the radar for future national team opportunities and possible international club interest.
