The Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) has successfully held its Ordinary Congress at the Regional House of Chiefs in Bolgatanga, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on issues concerning the development of football in the region.
The Ordinary Congress, which served as the highest decision-making body of the Association, gave members the opportunity to review the activities of the past season and considered key matters ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
Among the issues discussed were the review of the past season, the Association’s Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditor’s Report, as well as the budget for the new season.
Addressing participants at the congress, Regional Football Association Chairman Salifu Seidu Zida called on football stakeholders to embrace unity, peace and togetherness as fundamental pillars for the growth and development of the game across the Upper East Region.
He urged stakeholders to put aside their differences, work collaboratively and pursue a common vision aimed at strengthening grassroots football, nurturing young talents and creating greater opportunities for the region's football community.
Zida emphasised that sustainable football development requires a united front, mutual respect and the collective commitment of all stakeholders, including club administrators, referees, coaches and other members of the football fraternity.
The congress was attended by Ghana Football Association Executive Council member and Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman Samuel Aboabire, as well as Regional Football Associations Coordinator Daasebre Adu-Asare Michael.
Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between the various regional football associations and the Ghana Football Association in advancing football development across the country.
The successful organisation of the congress provides an opportunity for stakeholders in the Upper East Region to strengthen their collective efforts towards building a more united and progressive football community.
