The media accreditation process for Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Somalia at the Essipong Sports Stadium is officially open.

Journalists and photographers interested in covering the match are required to submit their accreditation applications via email to [email protected] on or before 5:00 pm GMT on Monday, November 9, 2026.

All applicants must attach a recent passport-sized photograph to their application. Applications submitted without a passport photograph will not be considered, while late submissions will not be entertained.

Successful applicants will be required to collect their accreditation tags from either the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium or the National Sports Authority (NSA) Secretariat at the Essipong Sports Stadium.

Media personnel based in Accra can collect their tags at the SWAG Secretariat on Wednesday, November 10, 2026, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Those from the Western Region and surrounding areas can pick up their tags at the NSA Secretariat at Essipong between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on the same day.

Due to limited space at the media tribune, the following accreditation allocations have been set for media houses:

  • Television: 3 representatives
  • Radio: 2 representatives
  • Print/Online Portals: 1 representative

The Essipong Sports Stadium media tribune has a total capacity of 150 journalists. Consequently, only shortlisted applicants will be granted accreditation to cover the encounter.

The shortlist of successful applicants is expected to be published on Tuesday, November 9, 2026.
