Ghana international, Sulley Muntari ensured that Portsmouth sealed a place in the semi-finals of the English FA Cup as the Pompey side beat Manchester United 1-0.

The dramatic quarter-final clash had United in the driving seat until 12 minutes to end the game at Old Trafford when disaster struck.

A penalty awarded Portsmouth after Milan Baros was upended by United's substitute keeper Tomasz Kuszczak was the tunring point of the game.

Kuszczak, who had replaced Edwin van der Sar at half-time, was sent off and Rio Ferdinand took over in goal.

Sulley Muntari stepped up for the kick as he came up against Rio Ferdinand, who had taken over the goalkeeping duties for the Old Trafford side.

And the Ghana player did not disappoint as he drilled the ball with enough pace to the far low corner beating the diving, Rio Ferdinand.

Sulley Muntari's goal took Portsmouth back to Wembley for the first time since 1939 for the semi-finals and ended United's hopes of repeating their 1999 treble triumph.
