Black Satellites head coach, Sellas Tetteh has showered praises on his players for exhibiting strong character in their hard-fought 2:1 victory over Zambia yesterday in the CAF Under 20 Championship.

The Satellites fought back from a goal down to win 2:1 against a gritty Zambian side battling to save their tournament.

In a post match interview with www.ghanafa.org, Sellas said his players deserve commendations for the manner in which they won the game.

"Our opponents (Zambia) were very physical and strategically too they were very strong; hard running and big pace on the ball but the team stood against all odds to win the game. I give big credit to the boys," Sellas said.

"That tells you their mental fortitude so much credit to the boys for matching our opponents."

Sellas said the grueling encounter with the Zambians has tested the resolve of his players and it would help them in subsequent games in the tournament.

"You cannot go into a tournament and get easy matches so matches like this come your way to toughen you. It is good that we are meeting such tough opponents so early in the tournament because it will toughen us, get us prepared, get us ready and get the challenge that the way is not going to be easy to pass true.

Sellas was also delighted he and his technical team got their decisions right when the going got tough to edge out the Zambians.

"We did the right things at the right time and they worked to perfections," he said.

"The last time I said if it gets to the crunch, we would adopt our plan B. it got to the crunch and we adopted our plan B."

Ghana will next play Mali on Sunday in the final group matches. Both teams have qualified for the semi finals of the competition as well as the FIFA Under 20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The match will determine who emerges as winner of Group B.
