The highly anticipated MTN Elite U-19 Championship kicks off on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with Eastern Region set to take on Upper West Region in the opening Group A encounter.
The curtain-raiser will be followed by another thrilling Group B fixture between Volta Region and Ashanti Region, before Northern Region face Western Region in what promises to be a fiercely contested battle. The opening day will conclude with an exciting clash between Greater Accra and Upper East Region.
All participating teams arrived at the technical centre on Thursday afternoon, ahead of a mandatory orientation session held in the evening. The session set the tone for the tournament, reinforcing the importance of discipline, fair play and professionalism throughout the competition.
The MTN Elite U-19 Boys Championship brings together ten Regional Football Association (RFA) U-19 teams from across the country, providing a platform to showcase Ghana’s brightest young football talents.
Proudly sponsored by MTN Ghana, the tournament forms a key pillar of the GFA’s “Power to the Youth” initiative, which aims to build a structured pathway for young players to transition from grassroots football into the professional and national team setups.
As the first whistle sounds in Prampram, anticipation is high for an exciting 11 days of competition, teamwork and the discovery of the next generation of Ghanaian football stars.
