AshantiGold have opened a two-point lead at the summit of the Glo Premier League standings after champions Hearts of Oak dropped vital points on Wednesday.

With six games to go now, there appears no clear sign of the title destination but AshantiGold are hot favourites.

The Miners produced a 2-0 win over Berekum Arsenals with both goals coming from Yakubu Mohammed at the Len Clay Stadium on match-day-24 to take pole position at the top.

Defending champions, Hearts of Oak struggled to draw at the Golden City Park against Chelsea and slip to fourth.

Samuel Affum's injury time goal for the Phobians levelled Ibrahim Isaaka's 49th minute opener for Chelsea.

Aduana Stars are back in contention for the title after beating relegation bound side, Hasaacas 1-0 at the Dormaa Park.

At the Wa Park, All Stars continued with their recent fine form as they beat King Faisal 1-0 to move third and three points off the summit.

Asante Kotoko’s miserable season continued at the Baba Yara Stadium where they could only draw 1-1 Heart of Lions, a result which has forced the management to place coach Paa Kwesi Fabin on leave till the end of the season.

Francis Coffie put Kotoko ahead in the 25th minute but Lions struck the equalizer five minutes later through Daniel Acquaye to leave the Porcupine Warriors 10th on the table.

New Edubiase were winners in the six-goal thriller at the Anane Boateng Stadium where they thrashed home side, Kessben FC 5-1 to keep them out of the bottom three.

Emmanuel Kwabena hit a brace with John Arthur, Nuhu Fuseini and Alhassan Nuhu all finding target for Edubiase as Kessben’s consolation on poor day came from Kwabena Edusei.

Despite a 2-1 win for Great Olympics over Real Tamale United at the El-Wak Stadium, the Wonder Boys still find themselves in the drop zone.

Struggling Eleven Wise got an important 1-0 victory against Liberty Professionals at the Sekondi Sports Stadium as they attempt to play their way out of the bottom three.
