All is set for the start of the 2023–2024 Eastern Regional Second Division Middle League. Six clubs from their respective zones have made it through the qualifying process to participate in the 2023/24 Eastern Regional Division Two Middle League.

The Association's Executive Council, Middle League Committee, and Competitions Department discussed organizational matters at a stakeholders meeting organized for qualified clubs on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Latter Days Saints Hall in Koforidua.

Among the teams that secured Middle League qualification berths, Port City FC, Blue Skies Pelicans FC, Tallons/Kwahu Rangers, and Live Now SC have made it to this stage before, while Golden Warriors and MK Youngsters are debutants.

Talons/Kwahu Rangers were crowned champions in Zone One with 37 points, following a draw against Real Kpong United in their final match, while Live Now SC secured their spot in the Middle League after a 4-1 away win over Heart of Eagles in week 18 that led to their topping Zone Two with 36 points.

Blue Skies Pelicans retained their top spot in Zone Three with 43 points after a 3-0 victory over Adeiso Coven FC. The Pelicans have put up very impressive performances throughout the regular season.

In Zone Four, the main challengers for qualification were Kwaebibiriem United, a former Division One League team, and the in-form Golden Warriors. Golden Warriors were able to qualify for the Middle League for the first time in four years by amassing an impressive 45 points.

Zone Five Champions Port City FC, who have consistently qualified for the Middle League, will look to secure qualification this time round, having secured qualification again with a whopping 48 points in a season in which they impressively went undefeated.

MK Youngsters from Afram Plains won Zone Six after defeating Amankwah United in the play-off game to become champions.

As part of its support for the qualified teams, the Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA) presented an amount of GH¢3,000.00 to each of the six qualified teams to cover their participation in the Middle League.

In addition to the participation fees paid to the six participating clubs, the Eastern RFA presented three official footballs to each club.

Mr. Linford Boadu Asamoah, Eastern RFA Chairman, speaking on the support extended to the clubs, emphasized the point that the money and the footballs were given to the clubs to assist them in their preparation for the tournament.

He went on to say that this support had been extended to the club despite the tough economic times being faced by the RFA.

For the RFA, the support is designed to boost future football development in the region, he added.

This is the second time under Chairman Linford Boadu Asamoah's administration that clubs are receiving participation fees ahead of the prestigious Division Two Middle League.

With the stage now set for the commencement of the 2023/24 Eastern Regional Division Two Middle League on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Koforidua Youth Resource Center, football enthusiasts in the region can look forward to some intriguing and exciting football action over the next few days.
