Legon Cities left it late to beat Berekum Chelsea 3-2 in a spellbound five-goal thriller to maintain their impressive home record in Dawu on Friday.

Frederick Akatuk scored with the last kick of the ball to hand the Royals back-to-back wins in the Ghana Premier League.

Akatuk opened the scoring for the home side in the 41st minute before Kofi Ansu Patrick pulled parity in the 85th minute for the visitors.

Cities went ahead two minutes later after Rahim Yaya Abdul scored in the 87th minute.

But the visitors pressed and got the equaliser courtesy Dramani Awuah one minute into injury time in an enthralling contest at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

As the game appeared to be heading for a draw, Frederick Akatuk popped up with the final nail to the coffin, scoring the winner and his brace to steal the show.

Legon Cities have now won their last two matches following their 2-0 success against giants Hearts of Oak last weekend.

Chelsea beat Medeama 2-0 on Monday but leave Dawu empty-handed in what has been a bewitching end-to-end Ghana Premier League day.
