Asante Kotoko have failed in their quest to advance to the Group Stage of the CAF Champions League after losing 2-1 to El Eulma of Algeria.

The Porcupine warriors started off Sunday's match on a strong note with Obed Owusu's 5th minute goal.

Kotoko however could not hold on to their lead as the Algerians equalised and took the lead just a few minutes to the end of the game.

Kotoko held their Algerian opponents to a goalless draw two weeks ago in Algiers.

But the Algerians will now go away with a 2-1 aggregate scoreline and advance to the next stage of the competition.

Hearts of Oak are now Ghana's only remaining club on the continental after they advanced to the 1/8 stage of the Confederation Cup.

The Phobians will travel to Mali for the first leg match before hoating Djoliba AC de Bamako in Accra a fortnight after.
