Ghana captain Jordan Opoku has called on teammates to be tactically disciplined in order to overcome DR Congo for a place in the semi-finals of the African nations Championship (CHAN).

The home-based national team are in the last-eight of the on-going tournament in South Africa exclusive to players based in their home countries.

Ahead of their clash with DR Congo on Sunday in Bloemfontein, Opoku is demanding that Ghana do not let their heads drop.

"We have to listen to our coach and be tactically disciplined on the pitch. That will be the only advantage for us to overcome them," Jordan Opoku told www.ghanafa.org ahead of the match.

The Asante Kotoko midfielder is the only surviving member of Ghana's 2009 squad that lost to DR Congo in the finals of the maiden tournament in Ivory Coast.

He acknowledges the contest will be tough and admits that Ghana has a lot of respect for the Congolese.

"They have a lot of players from TP Mazembe, which is one of the good sides in Africa. We respect them and we know it will be a tough match. But we are very confident going into the game.

Opoku added that Ghana is not under any pressure to avenge the 2009 defeat.

"We don't feel any pressure because this is only one game that will move us to the next stage of the competition. We only have to go to the pitch and play all our hearts and minds out so that victory will be ours," the captain added.
