
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the appointment of Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah, Member of Parliament for Berekum West Constituency, as the new Chairman of the Football Stakeholders Committee. Hon. Kyere-Duah brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked as a sports consultant, lecturer, and sports journalist before his election to Parliament.
To support Hon. Kyere-Duah, the GFA has named Fred Pappoe as Vice Chairman of the Committee. Pappoe, a former Vice President of the GFA, previously served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee and was also an Executive Council member, bringing deep institutional knowledge to the team.
Other distinguished members of the committee include: • Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei, former MP for La Dadekotopon • Dr. Francis Bediako, experienced sports administrator • John Ansah, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) • Dr. Adams Baba, former Black Stars team doctor and current Board Chairman of Karela United FC • Haminu Dramani, former Black Stars winger
The Football Stakeholders Committee will advise the Executive Council of the association on all technical and structural aspects of the game, ensuring a coherent and effective national football structure.
The key mandate of the FSC include, but not limited to the following: 1. To coordinate the management of the relationship between Clubs, Players [active and retired], Leagues, the Ghana League Clubs Association [GHALCA], Regional Football Associations, Government, the Media [Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and others], Schools/Colleges, the Security Agencies, the Ghana Health Service and the GFA in order to build a healthy rapport between the association and all stakeholders 2. To develop and relevantly update a Policy Manual for engagement with various stakeholder groups 3. To, in conjunction with the Awards and Events Committee and the GFA Executive Council, hold periodic [quarterly, half-yearly and yearly] Stakeholder Engagements in the forms of Forums, Seminars or Socialization gatherings. 4. To liaise with the GFA Marketing and Communications Departments to relevantly promote Stakeholder engagements 5. To prepare and publish key outcomes from Stakeholder engagements for the information of key football publics as well as the General Public 6. Prepare and ensure adherence to Activity Schedules [for all Stakeholder engagements] 7. Conduct research on issues of major interest to stakeholder groups and address these issues proactively. 8. Liaise with, and support the GFA Foundation on its activities 9. Prepare and present periodic reports to the Executive Council covering all aspects of the Committee's activities 10. By bringing together different parties involved in the game, the FSC will work to improve the overall interests of club football nationwide.
