The struggle for the league title will be decided on the final day of the season as the guard at the top once again changes.

The point’s difference between clubs makes it difficult determining who gets relegated. The struggle to avoid the drop however remains uncertain.

Two more clubs would be joining Sporting Mirren and that would be decided on the final day.

Hearts of Oak returned to the summit of the Glo Premier League and now need to win their final day game to seal their 20th league title.

The Phobians, though stretching their winless run to nine games after drawing 1-1 with Berekum Arsenals at the Golden City Park opened just a one-point lead at the top with one match remaining after their rivals, Kotoko suffered a defeat in their penultimate game.

Hearts appeared to be coasting to their first win under coach Nii Noi Thompson after Francis Bossman scored to put them in the lead but Stephen Amankwah managed to deny the Phobians victory when he struck the equalizer.

But a draw was enough for the Phobians to return to the top as Asante Kotoko were defeated 2-1 by the struggling AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium.

Kotoko drew first blood when Daniel Nii Adjei scored in the first half but Daniel Asamoah drew the Miners level before Nana Afriyie ensured that the home side claimed all three points when he added the second.

The defeat leaves the Reds with a slim chance of defending their title. Kotoko would need to win their last game and hope for a Hearts of Oak defeat.

King Faisal risk losing their top four place after losing 1-0 at home to Tema Youth. Emmanuel Baffoe scored the match winner for the Tema-based team.

But Heart of Lions, despite losing 2-1 to Kessben at the Anane Boateng Stadium are assured of a top four finish.

Isaac Acquaye scored for Lions but Kessben’s Anum Lanquaye and Yufa Zugah were on target as the home side picked the maximum three points.

Hasaacas improved their chances of beating the drop after winning 3-1 over Real Tamale United at the Sekondi Sports Stadium. The result rather sees RTU slip into the bottom three.

Liberty Professionals were 4-1 winners over All Stars as the Dansoman side continued their charge to escape the drop.

Chelsea have a slim chance of making a top-four finish after beating relegated Sporting Mirren 2-1 at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
