Hearts move top after RTU defeat

The standings at the top of the Glo Premier League continues to change after every match day as the league now has a new leader – the fifth since its start.

AshantiGold, Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Heart of Lions have all occupied the top before. But Heart of Oak also take their turn at the summit after seven games.

For the first time in over a season, former champions, Accra Hearts of Oak have moved to the summit of the table.

And the Phobians managed that after a 2-1 win over Real Tamale United in Tamale.

Obed Ansah scored the two goals for the Phobians with one coming from the spot while Sherifdeen Mohammed also got a goal for the home side from the spot.

The win keeps the Phobians two points clear at the top after Heart of Lions failed to win against Liberty Professionals in the late kick-off at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

Yakubu Seidu scored the match winner for Liberty.

Debutants Berekum Chelsea and Tema Youth shared the points in a goalless draw at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

A second half spot kick converted by Samad Oppong handed King Faisal the three points at the Baba Yara Stadium where they defeated Gamba All Blacks 1-0.

The last match for match-day-7 would is a clash involving two new promoted sides, Sporting Mirren and Eleven Wise at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Monday evening.
