Dutchman, Arie Schans will lead the Brave Warriors to Ghana for the competition in January, taking over team duties from Ben Bamfuchile, though the Zambia coach, according to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) will remain in overall charge of the team.
It however remains unknown if Bamfuchile will continue in his post.
Thd Zambian last week told a national newspaper that he had resigned, but he later told reporters he had been ill and did not remember the discussion.
Schans, who is 56, was on the coaching staff of Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai.
He has also worked in Japan and in Bhutan, and in 2006 he was technical advisor to the Mozambique Football Federation.
Ghana play Namibia in the second Group A game on January 24 at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
