Competition : 2010 CAN/World Cup qualifiers

Teams: Benin v Ghana

Match Venue: Cotonou, Benin

Date: 11 October 2009

The Black Stars will today train for the first time in Cotonou after the team arrived on Friday for their World Cup qualifier against Benin.

Milovan Rajevac has a squad of 20 to select his starting team from as the African qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup reaches the penultimate stage this weekend.

Ghana, who have already booked a place at both the Nations Cup and the World Cup are determined to keep their unbeaten record intact in Group D.

The Black Stars became the first African nation to make it to the World Cup finals after they defeated Sudan 2-0 in the Group D qualifiers in Accra last month.

Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac has declared that he expects the team to maintain their high standards and keep their winning run going in the qualifiers.

"Well, we have qualified already which relieves the pressure off us. It has been a difficult campaign so far. But I expect them (team) to play to their best and keep our winning mentality going," Milovan Rajevac said to www.ghanafa.org.

"Benin will be playing at home and that would be difficult. I expect us to continue playing well and looking to improve.

"We have qualified but the campaign is not over. We have to show respect to our opponents and keep our record."

The Black Stars sit top of Group D, seven points clear in the qualifiers.
