Ghana have the chance to win their fourth Africa Youth Championship title after defeating Mali on penalties on Tuesday to reach the final in Algeria.

After drawing goalless in extra time, the game in Oran was decided on penalties with Ghana going on to win 4-2.

The Black Satellites will meet Egypt in the final on Saturday after the North African side edged out Nigeria in the other semi-final.

Richmond Nketiah scored the decisive kick but the hero on the night was goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi who saved two kicks, denying Adama Niane, and Adama Mariko from the spot.

After Francis Narh saw his kick saved by Ali Yirango, the initiative appeared to be with Mali.

But Ghana found the target in their remaining kicks through Jeremiah Arkorful, Attama Joseph and captain Lawrence Lartey.

The final meeting with Egypt will be the second between both sides at the Championship after Sellas Tetteh's side came up shot, losing 2-1 in their opening Group A match.

Ghana - three-time winners (1993, 1999 and 2009) can win their fourth, which will be Sellas Tetteh's second after guiding the Black Satellites to their last title.

The Eaglets were dominant as their best chance of a goal came in the second half when Hamidou Traore struck the crossbar from a freekick in the 79th minute.

The Black Satellites came close on a few occasions but Ebenezer Assifuah and substitute Frank Sarfo Gyamfi could not beat Yirango.

For all of Mali's dominance, they were unable to beat Ofori Antwi, who was the busy of both goalkeepers.

But when it got to penalties, Ghana came out the better side on the night.
