Tamale City and Real Tamale United will continue their two-horse race for the title in Zone One A when they face Sankara Nationals and Northern City on Matchday 13 of the Access Bank Division One League. Tamale City are 6 points clear at the top of the table in Zone One A, and a win over Sankara Nationals would further enhance their title charge heading into the end of the first round of the season. The former Premier League side leads the table with 28 points – 6 points ahead of closest contender Real Tamale United and 9 points ahead of Sankara Nationals, who are in third place. Tamale City have been in a rich vein of form, following three wins and two draws in their last five matches, and head into the match as favourites. The Citizens are unbeaten in the League, having conceded only 5 goals and scored 17 goals in the process.

Their closest contenders, Real Tamale United, will host another tricky opponent, Northern City, at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Sunday – with the aim of catching up with leaders Tamale City.

In Zone One B, leaders Debibi United will clash with KAC Academy at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Debibi United have taken a commanding lead in the Zone and are on a good run after suffering only one defeat (3-1 to Wamanafo Mighty Royals) in 12 matches. They have scored 23 goals and conceded 7 goals – but face a tricky test against second-place KAC Academy, who trail them by 6 points. Recent victories against Berekum Arsenal, Techiman Liberty Youth, Victory Club Warriors, and Legon Cities give them momentum ahead of Sunday’s clash, but KAC Academy won’t come cheap following their recent form in the League. KAC Academy are on a fantastic run – after picking 4 wins and one draw in their last five matches. Their impressive home form sets them apart, and a win will help them close the gap on the leaders – setting up an intense affair on Sunday.

The match is scheduled for 3pm kick-off at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Friday, December 26, 2025.
