It's one down for Augustine Adotey and there's cause for celebration but the Ghana coach admits that there's still work to be done.

The Black Maidens stormed to a 2-0 win over Korea DPR on Saturday at the U-17 FIFA Women's World Cup in Costa Rica.

Ghana scored in either half through Jane Ayieyam and Sandra Owusu-Ansah to go top of the group after Germany rallied back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Canada in the other group contest.

"I am highly excited and excited because, my first objective [winning against Korea DPR] is achieved," said the Ghana coach after the game.

"My first objective was to win my first match against Korea DPR, my second objective is to qualify to the next stage, so I am ever ready to face my next opponent; Germany."

Despite sitting at the summit, Adotey is looking to correct the shortfalls before the Black Maidens' next game against the Germans on Tuesday.

"In a game, sometimes players are losing concentration or tiredness comes in. Well, we have corrections to make. I have to go back and look at the tape and make corrections to whatever went wrong," Adotey said.

Issues about concentration is one that Adotey will be addressing and he is eager to turn things around.

"I came with a strategy to defend and attack and it worked perfectly," he said. "Except that concentration sometimes cropped in. Immediately we were two goals up, I saw my girls sitting back and that forced my team to retreat more into defensive play, allowing the opposition to keep coming."
