Director of IT at the Ghana Football Association Francis Adu Essah has been appointed as IT officer for the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2022 tournament. He will join experts from other parts of the continent for the biennial competition that is slated for the North African country from Sunday, February 19 to Sunday, March 11, 2023.

Francis Adu will provide IT support services for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) during the entire duration of the tournament.

Other CAF organized tournaments in which the IT boss has provided support includes the Women Africa Cup of Nations - AWCON Ghana 2018, the Africa Cup of Nations AFCON Egypt 2019, CHAN Cameroon 2021 and the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. He is currently in Egypt preparing for the Tournament.

The CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will also double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Indonesia. The top four teams from this championship will qualify for the World Cup.

Ghana were the defending champions, having won our 4th title in 2021, but will not defend the title after failing to qualify for this year’s tournament.
