DC fines and bans Arsenals and their CEO

Berekum Arsenals have been banned and fined by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association for the behaviour of their supporters.

After a hearing into incidents during their match-day-24 fixture against Liberty Professionals on April 20, 2011 at the Golden City Park, the club has been banned for three home games.

Eight charges were preferred against Arsenals by the Prosecutor.

"For counts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Berekum Arsenals F.C. is given 3-match home ban in line with GFA Regulation 39(7)(b). Additionally, the Club is to pay a fine of GHS 4,000.00 as per GFA Regulation 39(7)(a).

"In respect of count eight, Berekum Arsenals F.C. is sentenced to pay a fine of GHS 2,000.00 for preventing the video coverage of the match as per GFA Regulation 35(1)(c)."

Also, the Chief Executive of the club, Alhaji Yakubu Imoro has been found guilty for misconduct under GFA Regulation 35(1)(a) and (b) for his actions in their match against Berekum Chelsea on September, 19, 2010.

He was charged by the Disciplinary Committee on the grounds that "he rushed on Assiatant referee 1, F.D. Ocansey and rained insults on him for not flagging off-side against a Chelsea attacker."

"Consequently, Alhaji Yakubu Imoro is fined GHS 2,000.00 for misconduct as per GFA Regulation 35(1)(b)."
