The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will extend the use of its Competitions Management System (CMS) for all Division Two League clubs in the Greater Accra RFA after a successful pilot deployment for 2nd Division Zones 5 and 6 Leagues.

The GFA will also extend its pilot deployment of the Competition Management System (CMS) for Division two clubs in four other Regional Division Two leagues, after a successful pilot of the programme in Greater Accra this season.

It could be recalled that, 5 months ago the GFA began the pilot deployment of the CMS usage in two Zones (Zone 5 & 6) in the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Division Two League, which has been very successful.

Beneficiary clubs Zone 5 include 7th Wave FC, Great Ambitions FC, Tudi Mighty Jets FC, Third World FC, Mamobi Mitjiland FC, Auroras FC, Soccer Academy de Union Sportive Avranches , Montreal United, Doxa-H Untied FC and Accra Shooting Stars FC.

In Zone 6, Progen FC, Player Link SC, Crimson FC, Mountaineers FC, Twenty Fifteen FC, Asanska FC, Emmanuel City FC, Yitshar Football FC, Inter Millas FC and EurAfrica were on the pilot deployment programme.

"These clubs thus input their Matchday squad selection, generation of team sheets, disciplinary records, player statistics, and other relevant Matchday documents through the Competition Management System" explained Francis Adu Essah, Director of IT at the GFA.

The four new Regional Associations which will be rolled unto the pilot deployment programme include the Eastern, Western, Central, and Ashanti Regional Football Associations.

According to General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, "this is in line with the GFA's plan to rollout a nationwide implementation and usage of the CMS for all football competitions across the country".

As part of the piloting process, the GFA's IT Department will train all club officials in the selected RFAs and the respective Zones on the use of the CMS.

Training workshops will also be organised for Referees and Match Commissioners in the selected Regions.

The Association continues to introduce Football IT innovations and advancements to its members and stakeholders for the development of the game in Ghana.

Currently, the Association uses the CMS to organise the Ghana Premier League, the MTN FA Cup, the Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, the Women’s FA Cup, and the two Regional Women’s Promotional tournaments.
