Lower Division clubs begin the MTN FA Cup competition on Wednesday in the preliminary round fixtures that will run through the busy international calendar.

With the Black Stars away in Turkey preparing for next week's World Cup play-off against Egypt and the Premier League still in progress, there will be little breather for players of second and third tier teams involved in the Cup competition.

Beginning Wednesday, the forty-eight (48) qualified teams from the 2nd Division will play each other in the Preliminary Round same as the 48 Division 1 Clubs as they chase the Cup and the title won by reigning champions, Medeama last season.

Though the reigning champions and the 15 other elite division sides have skipped the first round pairings, the competition will not lack the atmosphere it always generates as many shocks are expected.
