Ghana coach Orlando Wellington has told his Black Satellites players to erase their opening day defeat at the Africa Youth Championships by taking complete control of their campaign.

The Black Satellites lost 2-1 to Nigeria in the Group B opener at the Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg on Monday.

Wellington admitted his disappointment in a post-game interview over the performance and demanded an improved display in the second group match on Thursday against Gambia.

"We lost because of some tactical indiscipline from my players. We will go back to the drawing board and try to improve where we can, so that we can bounce back. All is not lost yet. There are still two games at hand and we hope to win all two to qualify for the next round," he said.

The Black Satellites coach is aware of the expectations back home and knows his side must deliver in their next game.

"Pressure is something I have had to live with everyday, so nothing much changes. We have to produce a response on Thursday and then we are back in it."

"We also have to win our second game so as to put an end to the pressure."

Picking all three points against Gambia would be immense for Ghana in a competition where group winners and runners-up qualifying for the FIFA-organized U-20 World Cup in Colombia beginning in July.

"We are not scared. Remember this is competitive football at its best and we qualified for this tournament, why fear the opponent? We will correct our tactical mistake. I can not elaborate on that but it will lead us to victory in our next game," the Ghana coach said.
