Black Meteors starting line up for African U23 Championship qualifier against Gabon

Inter Allies Goalkeeper Kwame Baah will start in post for Ghana’s  U-23 side in Saturday afternoon’s African U-23 Championship qualifying match against Gabon.

The match which will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium will see Zakaria Fuseini  and Nuhu Musah starting in central defence with Gideon Mensah and Kingsley Fobi at the playing at the left and and right side of defence respectively.

Liberty Professionals midfielder Simon Zibo will play behind pacy midfielders Osman Bukari, Yaw Yeboah  and Joseph Paintsil.

Benjamin Tetteh and Kwabena Owusu are Ghana’s striking pair for today’s first leg tie against Les Panthères of Gabon.

With the Accra Stadium billed to host a historic double-header on Saturday, the Black Meteors will be the first to be in action at 3:00 p.m. before the Black Stars face the Kenyans at 6:00 p.m. in what promises to be an exciting international double-header.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko advanced to this stage of the qualifiers after beating Togo 5-1 in Kumasi and losing 1-0 away in Lome (5-2 aggregate).

The national U-23 side could face of the winner of the two-legged tie between Equatorial Guinea or Algeria in the final round of the qualifiers.

Ghana is looking to make it to the next Olympic Games after missing out of the competition since 2004.

The next Summer Olympics games will be staged in Tokyo, Japan.
