High flying Bechem United will play host to AshantiGold SC on Match Day 16 of the Ghana Premier League at Fosu Gyeabuor Park on Friday.

The Hunters are unbeaten in their last seven matches, winning three and drawing four including a goalless draw against Hearts of Oak in Accra and sit in second place with 26 points – same points with third placed Medeama SC and seven points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.

Star man Augustine Okrah is expected to lead his young guns at home once more as they continue to push for the top spot.

Okrah has scored 7 goals and sit in second place in the Top scorers chart with Zubairu Ibrahim of King Faisal but one goal shy of Asante Kotoko’s Etouga Mbella who has netted 8 times in the on-going season.

The former Al Hilal player who returned to Bechem United in the summer is proving himself at the club combining experience and goals with his hard work being complimented by the exuberance of teenagers Clinton Duodu (16), Emmanuel Annor (18), Aaron Essel (16) and Clement Tutu (19).

They also have in their fold experienced players like Latif Anabila and Kofi Agbesimeh.

AshantiGold SC are 9th in the League table with 21 points – 12 points behind Asante Kotoko having won their last three Premier League matches against Elmina Sharks (4-0), Accra Lions (1-0) and Dreams FC (2-1)– bringing to an end a winless run that dated back to December 12 when they beat WAFA 1-0 at Sogakope. They seem to have picked themselves up from a very unimpressive run that pushed them down the perking order.

Winger Yaw Annor has scored in three consecutive games and would prove useful to the team for the remainder of the campaign with a Top four place still in sight. The Obuasi lads have scored 13 and conceded 12 and aim to win only their third away match in the League.

Bechem United would fight to keep their place in the top four while AshantiGold SC push for the three points to keep their dream on course.

The math is scheduled for 3pm kick off at the Fosu Gyeabuor Park at Bechem on Friday, February 4 and live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247.
