Champions Medeama SC suffered their second consecutive defeat in seven days following a 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko at Baba Yara Sports stadium.

The mauve and yellows went into the tie looking to return to winning ways after fallen at home to Berekum Chelsea last weekend.

Asante Kotoko have been under immense pressure in recent weeks due to their patchy run of form - with their last Premier League win dating back to October 13, when they beat Aduana FC 1-0 at home.

Dr. Prosper Narteh-Ogum made six changes to the squad as Frederick Asare, Justice Blay, Sherif Mohammed, Richmond Lamptey, Nurudeen Mohammed and Steven Mukwala received the nod to start for the Reds.

Medeama scored first in the 33rd minute but Kamaradini’s goal was ruled offside.

Asante Kotoko returned from the break looking more hungrier for the opener and their efforts paid off on the hour mark after Georges Mfegue was fouled in the box.

Sherif Mohammed drilled the ball into the bottom corner for the only goal of the game.

Sherif ‘s goal gives Asante Kotoko their first win in six games - moving them to the 12th spot in the League log with 13 points.

Meanwhile Real Tamale United scored three  goals in 49 minutes to condemn Dreams FC to a 3-1 defeat at the Aliu Mahama stadium.

Afriyie Owusu was the hero for Real Tamale United as he scored a hat-trick before Agyenim Boateng Mensah pulled one back for the visitors.

Afriyie Owusu opened the scoring in the 7th minute after capitalizing on a blunder to slot home. He again profited from a melee to smash home the second goal in the 32nd minute before completing his hat-trick inside 49 minutes.

Dreams FC later pulled one back through Agyenim Boateng Mensah in the 50th minute.

In Bibiani - Barimah Baah scored in the 9th minute to give Nations FC a 1-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars.

Elsewhere at the Golden City Park - Berekum Chelsea dug deep to beat Legon Cities 1-0. Kofi Ansu Patrick scored the match winner in the 97th minute.

Finally, Bofoakwa Tano drew goalless with Nsoatreman FC at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
