The Black Maidens held their first training session in Rabat as they stepped up preparations for their opening Group C fixture against Norway at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

The session marked the team's official transition into tournament mode after arriving in the Moroccan capital from their pre-tournament base in Casablanca.

Having spent two weeks in Casablanca, where the technical team assessed the squad's readiness through international friendlies against China and Kenya, the Maidens have now shifted focus to working on tactics and sharpening match fitness at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.

Head Coach Joe Nana Adarkwa put the squad through their paces, with the coaching staff concentrating on tactical drills and set-piece routines ahead of Sunday's opener. The session was a crucial opportunity for the players to acclimatise to the match venue and conditions in Rabat.

Sunday's fixture against Norway represents a pivotal start to the campaign. A positive result would build momentum heading into the second group match against Brazil on Thursday, October 22, before concluding the group stage against Canada on Saturday, October 24.

With the first training session in Rabat now complete, the Black Maidens will continue their preparations in the coming days, with the technical team expected to use the remaining sessions to finalise the starting lineup and tactical approach for the Norway clash.
